About Magnetic Screens
DIY insect screens, cut to your window, delivered across the Netherlands.
Most window screens are sold for a window that does not exist. They come in a box at a standard size, and then you get them home and discover the opening is 4 cm narrower on one side than the other, because the house was built in 1954 and nothing in it is square.
That is the problem we build around. Every screen we sell is cut to the window in front of you.
Why cut to fit
You order the size above your opening and trim the frame down with a blade or a strong pair of scissors. No mitre saw, no tradesman, no waiting in for someone. An out-of-square opening in an older house stops being an obstacle, because you are shaping the screen to it rather than the other way round.
It also means one product line covers a whole house. The same kit does the tall bedroom window and the small one over the sink.
Why nothing gets drilled
A magnetic screen holds on a self-adhesive magnetic strip run around the frame. A velcro screen holds on hook-and-loop tape. Both grip for years and both lift away without pulling the finish off the frame.
For a rented flat that is the difference between having screens and not having them. There is no hole to explain when you leave, and the screens come with you.
Three meshes, because one is not enough
Standard grey fibreglass handles flies, mosquitoes and wasps, and that suits most houses. Near water or marshland, midges walk straight through ordinary fly screen, so there is a tighter 20 x 20 grade for that. And if you have a cat, ordinary mesh lasts days, so there is a heavy polyester pet mesh that claws cannot tear.
Most customers end up mixing them: pet mesh on the two windows the cat uses, standard grey everywhere else.
Parts, not just products
Frame, magnetic strip, corner sets and replacement mesh are all sold separately. If you are screening four odd windows, buying the parts and cutting them yourself works out cheaper than four kits, and every screen ends up matched to its opening.
How we ship
We deliver across the whole of the Netherlands. Delivery is free on orders of €75 or more, and a flat €25 applies under that.
